Check it out, me and some coworkers ended up in an article in the Bay Area Reporter:

You can read the article here.

So like I was saying before, working in a bar has been very interesting. Here are some random thoughts on the subject:

  • I’m getting pretty good at figuring out who is going to be a good tipper or a cheap bastard. Often before they even talk to me.
  • I’ve been working at the Encore for 6 months now, and in that time I’ve been hit on by 12 women and 16 guys. That’s San Francisco for you.
  • I love my drive home. There is a a feeling of peace on the streets after 3am. Sure most people are asleep. But I love it.
  • On weekends The Encore gets really crowded and it may take over 90 minutes to get your turn to sing. Customers often beg me to let them sing next or soon because they claim “They will rock the house…” or “Get this party escalated to the next level…”. When they finally get their chance to perform they ALL are terrible. Yes, I mean every time without exception.
  • Beer-only-drinking college kids need to learn their bar etiquette. No you are not clever, original or even mildly entertaining. Please learn to tip properly.
  • I’m getting better at making cocktails, and will soon have perfected my first original concoction.

Let’s talk later.
