Shubo Bijoya! Happy Durga Puja to my family and friends celebrating around the world. The various depictions of the Goddess Durga have her riding a lion or a tiger, but seeing as she is the universal mother and protector i think she would ride into battle on the most majestic, magical creature possible – so I prefer to merge a tiger and lion together. Here she is after defeating the buffalo demon Mahishashura, freeing the universe from the oppression of evil.
