This piece was my entry for a contest to design a rug! I’ve always been intrigued by bear skin rugs except that a bear has to be killed to make one.

So, I just wanted to make a cute mid-century influenced illustration of a rug with a dead bear and hardwood flooring under it. All the benefits and class of a bear skin rug without any of the ethical concerns!

Who would expect a rug to become a conversation starter?
