Happy New Year from Rabbit Castle!
by Mr. Sid on Jan.04, 2009, under Life/Random
Here we are folks…at the beginning of a new year. I for one am happy to get this year rolling. This year is already off to an awesome start – I finally built Rabbit Castle.
We adopted a bonded pair of rabbits named Rory and Hunny. They are about 4 and 5 years old. They are not just cute, but they have their distinct personality quirks. They are affectionate and quite independent. They’re already litter-box trained and miraculously don’t chew on computer and power cords.
I love these guys!

Rory & Hunny relaxing in their new home.
They are both mixed breed rabbits. We’re thinking Rory is possibly part or entirely Chinchilla or Giant Chinchilla rabbit. Hunny is most likely an English Spot mixed with a Himalayan. Regardless of what they are genetically, they are beautiful and sweet. It’s so much fun to see them running around our living room!
Cheers folks! Here’s to a great year.
Nutcracker ‘08

We survived the annual Nutcracker Ballet madness this year. Kristen’s students put on a great show again for the South San Francisco Civic Ballet. It was great seeing people I only get to see once or twice a year. The most unusual thing this year was the lack of crazy parents running around and wreaking havoc backstage, or during intermission.
I did my usual tasks: security, signing kids in and out, help setting up concession tables, and assisting in cleaning up after and moving a ton of stuff (literally). Years ago, I had done sound and lighting for the show but my old highschool now has updated equipment and two guys who are pro’s at all this stagecraft. These cats are smart, funny and were a blast to hang with.
Hey…my webhosts fixed everything they broke last week!
Now that we’re back to normal …I’m still thinking about redesigning parts of my site slowly. We’ll see how that pans out.
My younger brother is back in town for the week and it’s good to see him. I’m hoping to get some more speed paintigns done so hopefully I’ll have something new to show you after the new year kicks off.
See ya…
The War Room

So lately I’ve been on a personal mission to crank out as many speed paintings. This last one was inspired by the film: Dr. Strangelove and took me about 4 hours from start to finish. I’m really proud of this one.

Mumbai Attacks & New Arts
by Mr. Sid on Dec.02, 2008, under Art, Life/Random
I spent half of my Thanksgiving holiday watching the attacks on Mumbai unfold. I was sad for all the pointless loss of life but most of all I was ANGRY. Angry as hell for unheeded warnings, angry for defiling one of my favorite cities in the world, and angry that Pakistan refuses to keep these groups in check. Mumbai is a resilient city and will be to its vibrant self soon. Much respect to the security forces who took out those bastards and freed the hostages. And even more respect to those who fought for them and died.
Well, on a happier note I managed to do some more digital speed paintings:

Hail to the Chief!

A belated Happy Diwali to all. Yeah I know I’m a week late.
Tonight I am typing to you as Kristen and I are sipping 16 year old MacCallan scotch. I’ll admit that my eyes are filled with tears of joy.
To some, the unthinkable happened tonight. For me and many hopeful others, the next step in this country’s evolution happened – Barack Obama is the president elect! What this does to boost the self-esteem and level of dignity for all people of color… all people of the USA cannot even begin to be measured.
I look forward to a new and smarter foreign policy. For hopefully a new mindset of cooperation in domestic politics. I look forward to our soldiers leaving Iraq and dealing with those who actually attacked this nation 7 years ago.

President Barack Obama
Here’s a toast to better days ahead!
