Tales from Rabbit Ca...

Around 9 in the evening Rory’s mood seemed to change. He would not eat, or hop about. He just sat there shaking with his eyes half closed. We thought it was perhaps nothing and it would pass. We were all up late and around 1:40 in the morning fear set in to our warren. Rory was most likely...

Today is India’s 60th Republic Day commemorating the adoption of India’s constitution formally creating the world’s largest democracy. This has been a tough year for India with the effects of the world economic crisis and especially with the horrible terrorist attack on Mumbai. But...

Like every other blog on earth, I need to say something about today! 8 years of the worst government this nation has seen are over and today hope walked back into Washington DC. My friend Sha Sha dropped in this morning just in time to watch the inauguration with me, Rory, Hunny...

Tattoos & Tapas

day night I went out and got my 2nd tattoo. Pashe at One Shot Tattoo took my drawing and did an amazing job with the design. I’d wanted to get this one for years and I’m glad I finally did it. The design is of Lion Capital of Ashoka which is now the national emblem of India. Around 250...

Here we are folks…at the beginning of a new year. I for one am happy to get this year rolling. This year is already off to an awesome start – I finally built Rabbit Castle. We adopted a bonded pair of rabbits named Rory and Hunny. They are about 4 and 5 years old. They are not just cute,...

Nutcracker ’08

We survived the annual Nutcracker Ballet madness this year. Kristen’s students put on a great show again for the South San Francisco Civic Ballet. It was great seeing people I only get to see once or twice a year. The most unusual thing this year was the lack of crazy parents running around...

Mumbai Attacks & New Arts Dec02

Mumbai Attacks & New Arts

I spent half of my Thanksgiving holiday watching the attacks on Mumbai unfold. I was sad for all the pointless loss of life but most of all I was ANGRY. Angry as hell for unheeded warnings, angry for defiling one of my favorite cities in the world, and angry that Pakistan refuses to keep these groups in check. Mumbai is a resilient city and will be to its vibrant self soon. Much respect to the security forces who took out those bastards and freed the hostages. And even more respect to those who fought for them and died. Well, on a happier note I managed to do some more digital speed...

Hail to the Chief!

A belated Happy Diwali to all. Yeah I know I’m a week late. Tonight I am typing to you as Kristen and I are sipping 16 year old MacCallan scotch. I’ll admit that my eyes are filled with tears of joy. To some, the unthinkable happened tonight. For me and many hopeful others, the next step...

Happy Durga Puja and new art! Oct12

Happy Durga Puja and new art!

Well the Hindu festival of Durga Puja is winding down. It’s a particularly big deal for us Bengalis. The festival commemorates the victory of the Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishashura. This week I was inspired to create a stylized illustration of Her riding into battle. I don’t often work in this style and it was so much fun. Also I’ve finally gotten around to uploading more art from this year: The 4 pieces I did for my gallery show as well as a portrait of my friend...
